Default UK Firms get World Cup fine warning

Sounds about right... who would want to live in a country like this?

Firms that let staff watch the World Cup on broadband could be fined £1,000 if they do not hold a TV licence.

Apparently, the labour party have commissioned a top designer to design a new uniform for all civil servants which will comprise of black slacks, knee length leather boots, brown collared shirt, a red armband and a peaked cap with a skull and crossbones adorning the front....

Currently £131.50, but the Beeb wants more. Apparently it is the taxpayer's job to fund the Beeb's transition from analogue to digital and HDTV.

I was reading earlier this week about the Dutch Tax office warning about World cup pools. If the pot value is above 500.00 euro's, (300.00 pounds) then you are eligible to pay tax on the winnings (24%). They are planning on doing checks by checking works bulletin boards etc.

It's not just the UK that are trying to squeeze every last penny out of the normal Joe.

Sounds right. By all accounts the Netherlands has deteriorated rapidly in the last few years too.
