UK/Eire uni residency rules
Some people think of sending the kids back to the UK for uni only to find out that if the kid has been resident in Aus for 3 years then he/she will be treated as an international student and pay mega-fees.
In Eire it is different.
be ordinarily resident in the EU* (this includes the recent accession states) for at least three of the five year preceding admission

ATM the fees are free but it looks as though it is gong to change.
Some fine unis in Ireland. http://www.topuniversities.com/unive...rankings/irish
Too late for my kids even though they have British and Irish nationality but could be of use to others.

Re: UK/Eire uni residency rules
If the UK says you have to have been resident in the UK for the 3 years before the first academic day then moving here means you are stuffed straight-away. To go to a UK uni and pay home fees you need to re-do your 3 year stint.

However, if you wish to go to an Irish uni then you could have been here up to 2 years and still qualify for home fees which are free at the moment.
Please move it back to where I put it. It could be useful info to some parents who like myself never feel compelled to visit The Barbie.
