Default UK Chicken Pox vs Australian Chicken Pox

Same thing? Or different?
Having had chicken pox in uk, can you then get australian chicken pox?
Is it better having chicken pox in the UK or Australia?

I think it's more expensive in Australia. Probably cheaper to get it shipped in.

Bigger, brasher, itchier, redder, louder.

World class, Australia probably even invented it.

And calamine lotion

Customs stopped me bringing in a pukka chicken and mushroom pie, so good luck with chicken pox 😀

I know you can get shingles in Australia as a result of chicken pox in the Uk.

Even if you've had UK Chicken Pox twice....It's not recognised in Australia and you probably have to go through a pre pox poxy proxy prolonged training course before you are qualified to take on the Australian version.... Plus you have to begin at the bottom. It'll probably cost an arm and a leg as well.

The varicella zoster virus that causes chickenpox is the same in both countries. Immunisation against varicella is given routinely in Australia as part of the national childhood immunization program. All immunisations on this program are free. Immunisation against the virus isn't given routinely in the UK, but parents can choose to have their children immunised privately at a cost.

Immunise - Varicella (chickenpox)
Chickenpox - NHS Choices
