Ahh, News Corp, and in particular news.com.au - never knowing reporting the news truthfully.

You may have noticed that news.com.au has become a reprint factory - rerunning articles published elsewhere in lieu of journalism.

Strangely, they do sometimes put effort into editing the copy, like in this case where the key parts of the original story were deleted .... for some reason.

Typical Labor though. They have no clue and don't get a few things as per usual.

Firstly, when you have one of the highest corporate tax rates in the world, who are you going to attract, to employ people, keep the money floating around the system.

Secondly, Labor are moaning about the women who are paid both maternity leave from the employer and government. Really? What? This lot are all over the place and don't have a single piece of consistency.

Thirdly they have no concept of paying for things. If you pay more for one area (because working mothers pay more in tax than they receive in Child Care benefits) you need to take from elsewhere. There is nothing wrong in putting those in there early 20's out to work or into study and having them give a little instead of taking a lot.

Then there's Nick X. He's own party don't even agree with his thoughts on this Bill but Nick X is so far up his own arse - its only a matter of time before he crosses the bench.

So, far from it being Labor delaying a necessary law - it's actually Trunbull and the coalition trying to force through unpopular measures that they don't have the numbers for, getting called on it, and then trying to divert from their misbehaviour by trying to point to a sub part of the bill and saying "look Labor is holding this up". All so they can give tax cuts to their mates/masters in big business. Despicable isn't it?

This is where you fall apart. You have to go beyond the opening left wing paragraph - keep reading. When it gets in to the detail it all sounds really sensible right. Even the ABC bites its tongue as it gets into the detail - very hard for the ABC to swallow of course.

You can call it looking after big business if you like. So can Short sighted Billy Shorten. But deep down Billy knows its the right thing to keep Australia competitive - so do you. You just lost money in the GFC or something and have this axe to grind. Hell it was something he proposed a few years back - check out the hipocricy.

I wouldn't put my house on it (mind the pun) and even though the Libs are saying otherwise, I reckon there's pretty good odds looming on a backflip to NG and/or CGT in the May budget - watch this space. Its the only tool in the box for the growing housing news.

Problem is with the voters understanding the value proposition of Turnbull. Versus the misunderstanding of what Shorten really offers.


Would a union member have the knowledge to fully understand the journey Turnbull is taking and the obstacles

Nope and to be fair you can't really blame the union member. Turnbull like Abbott have real communication issues. These are complex problems with complex solutions. Not an easy communication issue to solve but they really need to break the complexity down for the simple man. Without that, they are just going to be picked of everytime by people like Shorten and the ABC.
