The Trumpmare is happening... Who will win?

Re: The Trumpmare is happening... Who will win?
I had no idea what the electoral college was, so I did a little research. Each state has a set number of electors. Wont go into the rigmarole of how they get the job or how they are supposed to vote, but can please themselves. Anyway there are 538 electors who vote for president and vice pres. Whoever gets 270 becomes president, irrespective of whom the population vote for. This does not seem very democratic to me. Why bother to vote when your vote could mean nothing? Now I understand all the protest. The people gave Hilary the majority but Trump won the electors vote so he is president elect. Doesn't seem right to me.

But are Americans drug and terrorist problems only born from outside of the US? Of course not. Trumps message has only focussed on foreign threats to America's safety but Americans are doing a better job at killing themselves. A strong border control is important for any country but how is banning all Muslims from entering the US or putting up a wall along the Mexican border a solution to their very sad home made gun, drug and domestic violence problems? Can't see the forest for the trees.
Not one of Trumps policies mention banning muslims. In fact "Mulsim" or "Islam" does not feature in any of Trumps policies.
Do yourself and the rest of us a favour and read up before sprouting such rubbish.

Give the propaganda and the bullshit rhetoric a break sport. You are proving yourself worse than you left wing bullshit politician mates.

Then don't let lies hang out there. If you want to debate, go ahead, but at least bring the facts to the table.

Donald J. Trump is calling for a total and complete shutdown of Muslims entering the United States until our country's representatives can figure out what is going on.

I guess you are not seeing the point of the original statements. It was that you shouldn't have simplistic, racially/religiously targeted rules that encompass a large number of people. You can't deal with a large number of people as suspects and by putting them all in the 'terrorist' box you make it much easier for the terrorist.
In this situation we have a bunch of people who feel they haven't been getting a fair shake of the stick since, well at least Reagan. They then throw their toys out of the pram and vote for someone who is obviously lying to them (if he puts up import tariffs, he gets export tariffs in return, and less jobs). The reality is the issue is structural - there aren't enough controls on the 1%ers to stop them syphoning off the profits, and automation is going to need even less people, pushing down wages. You don't fix that by putting in charge someone who is proudly a 1%er, has shifted jobs to china to line his pocket, AND WHO'S POLICIES ARE TO CUT TAXES ON THE RICH, A LOT.
That's stupid.
All of the names floating forward from Trump are poor; payback for support in the campaign, not the best people. Pence is a creationist loony who wants a theocracy, Ben Carson for education (evolution is the devils work and the big bang is a fairy tale), Newt Gingrich for Secretary of State (a man everyone hates), etc.
Err, you do realise that suggesting that most of those coming from Mexico are "drug dealers, murderers and rapists" is a racist statement that has nothing to do with reality, don't you?
The reality is that those coming across the border are LESS likely to be drug dealers, murderers and rapists than those that native born. If you want to do something about serious crime, you'd do better to deport those born in the US and leave the mexicans ...
Mexicans have long formed an underclass in the US, useful in doing shitty jobs for low wages with no opportunity to speak up. If they were legal, the pay/conditions for all would rise, and the drug economy would decrease (since drugs is one route for those without documents to make money). If you try and deport them, you need to find someone native born to be cleaners, farm workers, etc. - think that's going to happen?

Legalization may solve some problems, but for illegal drug problems simply border has to be controlled- and that will help Mexico as reduce cash and arms going back to Mexico will have some effect on Cartels.

Lefties are going to be your new masters a little further down the road. So may as well show a little respect now as well as ditching the tired old, proven flawed rhetoric.

Re: The Trumpmare is happening... Who will win?
Well Mexico isn't sending their best. Just a fact . Most are unskilled and very low education, even the Spanish knowledge of some crossing the border is very low, and besides my own observation better educated Mexicans I know say the same thing. Sure the way Trump phrased things was inappropriate, but his reasons for border control certainly aren't racist.
Is he chauvinistic ? Some people would see that as a strength , "America First".
As far as his words time will tell. I agree he didn't during the election choose his words carefully. And I agree there seemed little talk from either right or left about all the illegals that simply over-stayed their visas.
I deal with lots of illegals , helping some of them with translations or advice, and others on a social basis. Being for border control and reducing immigration can be a valid position that has nothing to do with racism.
As far as Muslims one look at Sweden, or the various terrorist attacks in Europe and US, it would suggest to err on the side of caution. In any case Muslims aren't a race, so again I fail to see how his policy would be considered racist. Or as a practical matter banning Muslims could be implemented for Muslims holding European passports. More than one Trump supporter has told me they don't expect him to implement everything, but that he would put American interests first. But putting a ban in place until acceptable vetting procedures in place on those from regions that sponsor or harbor terrorists is a security and not a race issue.

As for Muslims and Sweden, while there certainly are issues, one needs to be aware the collation od crime stats differs there than from many other countries.
Most Trump supporters would be likely clueless as to what will be actually delivered and I expect most took motor mouth at his word.
Still no Clinton supporters and Trump is likely to be the catalyst for real change further down the road with parties of real change coming onto radar.

You KEEP claiming for fact things that have been shown to not be true, and then claiming that the people pointing up your 'error' are 'bullshitting'.
So, once again.
You say
well here is the policy, on the Trump website no less.

Care to admit you are wrong and apologise ?

http://www.centerforsecuritypolicy.org/2015/06/23/nationwide-poll-of-us-muslims-shows-thousands-support-shariah-jihad/
We all know that polls don't portray an accurate story but......
More than half (51%) of U.S. Muslims polled also believe either that they should have the choice of American or shariah courts, or that they should have their own tribunals to apply shariah. Only 39% of those polled said that Muslims in the U.S. should be subject to American courts.
If that figure is actually true, its pretty damning stuff.
Here is the policy on immigration. Help yourself.
