Default Trump for President?!

My goodness watching him interviewed over the past few weeks, and then on the GOP debate was compulsive viewing. I've never been so mesmerised by American politics in years. Love him or hate him, those ratings (24m on Fox) are not the norm.

Any thoughts?

On the plus side, electing him would mean no more dynasty families, but that really has to be the only upside to Trump. Him not being Tea Party also another possible upside.

Of course half the electorate are below average intelligence. That's what average means.

The guy is a buffoon, makes outrageous comments that he knows will offend and will never be GOP candidate or president but I quite like him

He is an antidote to the socialist, PC, anti-American nonsense that the left in the US spews out

Obama has been a terrible president for the USA - and by default the rest of the west - and Clinton would be too. The world needs a hard president who will stand up to radical islam and knock it on its ass and you're not going to get that with the American left

How would you define 'below average intelligence?' I think you could be a looking at a higher proportion than half If Oprah decides to run it'll be a landslide

What do you think is going to happen that will knock him from running? So far his 'outrageous' comments have only driven up his popularity. He plays people, he understands ratings and I don't think anyone can argue he's used the law and many politicians to his advantage. I think his advisor 'resigning' was yet more spin.

Still fascinated

Average (or mean) intelligence would be the sum of all of the intelligence quotients divided by the entire population, so it could be weighted in either direction by particularly bright or particularly stupid people.

It may not be an even split between those above and those below. That would be the median intelligence, which is the number that splits the upper 50% and the lower 50%.

Is Oprah planning to run? She probably could do quite well - but which party?

The republican party would never have him as their presidential candidate as he cannot win - the next president will need the votes of women and Hispanics to get in. He could (and probably will) stand as an independent but again, can't win

Thanks for the explanation, sorry I was being a bit tongue in cheek!! I think Trump has all the right wing, less than intelligent population in the bag. I've even seen someone (In Cleveland I think) say they had changed their allegiance from Democrat to GOP because they'd seen him on Celebrity Apprentice. How many people in non titular power aren't power crazy narcissists. At least he's not pretending to be anything else and hiding behind fake rhetoric. Megyn Kelly asked him a pretty stupid question straight off the bat if you compare with what the others got. Rather benign by comparison.
