Tom Toms-can the uk ones be upgraded to use in Oz?

Tom Toms-can the uk ones be upgraded to use in Oz?
Was wondering what peoples thoughts were on whether they have managed to use their Tom Tom sat nav over in Oz if brought over from the Uk? Trivial i know in the whole scheme of things but trying to take my mind off visas and the waiting game!

Havent done this but I understand you just have to buy the Australian maps which can be quite expensive - but you can get them duty free. The unit will be the same regardless of the country.

I have used Oz maps on my UK TomTom. You have them loaded on the same card as your UK ones. When you get there, you select the Oz maps and away you go. The only thing that is useless is the Postcode lookup, but the rest works the same.

yes we used oz map on our uk tom tom last time we were there. Absolute god send!
