We are doing it because we love the country, it is our home, and we feel more settled and have more loyalty and respect for the place than we ever had in the UK for many years. My sister is here for a visit, and so she will come, along with our best friends - a couple we met just over a year ago. I'm very happy :) |

Congratulations, you obviously feel exactly like we did. We became citizens on 26 January 2001 and I was pretty tearful.:)

It was great:thumbup: In some ways having the ceremony on Australia Day would've been nice, but we had the next best thing..."sorry" day. The speeches by the Mayor and councillors/MP's present were pretty emotionally charged. :) |
