Think I'll cry at ours, too. I can't wait for our citizenship. I'll be doing it for the same reasons you did. I love living here and can't see myself calling any other place home.

Many congratulations....I love a happy ending :)

I think it's only right that those who can, should show their loyalty & gratitude to the country, if they feel it has enriched their lives & made things happen for them that wouldn't have been possible otherwise.

Wishing you many more happy years :)

The best? What even as good as having two passports should one have the misfortune to have their collar felt abroad then having a spare to leg it:sneaky:

We are doing it because we love the country, it is our home, and we feel more settled and have more loyalty and respect for the place than we ever had in the UK for many years.

My sister is here for a visit, and so she will come, along with our best friends - a couple we met just over a year ago.

I'm very happy :)

Couldnt happen to a more special and wonderful couple!

Congratulations to both of you. Enjoy the time you're spending with your sister cas.

August 13 2008. We may wait until January and do it when our friends in Adelaide are eligible too. They're coming over this way for summer holidays then so we could all do it together. I think it would be really nice to share something significant with people we care about.

Congratulations, you obviously feel exactly like we did. We became citizens on 26 January 2001 and I was pretty tearful.:)

Cheers (and to everyone else who has replied on this thread).:)

It was great:thumbup:

In some ways having the ceremony on Australia Day would've been nice, but we had the next best thing..."sorry" day. The speeches by the Mayor and councillors/MP's present were pretty emotionally charged.

:)
