No, but there's a place called "Barragup" which is affectionaly known by WA folks as "Buggerup."

Well, I had to look up the precise meanings of the names, since my Noongar isn't too good at the best of times.

But I already knew about the "-up" thing.

Talking Re: Tittybong (Australia)

There are 2 villages in Hertfordshire called Ugley and Nastey. Apparently the local press were able to have a field day a few years ago and print the headline - "Ugley woman marries Nastey man".

Cheers

Had to revive this thread - sitting here after a long day putting road name on the GIS QLd map, and I've just had to do one in Emerald......how could you tell your family that you are moving to a house in "Tellem B*ggerem Close"......

on my 2nd aussie trip we were driving from airlie beach down the queensland coast when we came across signs for "flaggy rock" and "upper flaggy rock"....

not particulary funny names but even just writing them now i'm giggling again! it's just something about the word "flaggy".... i swear we had to pull the car over because there was a danger of either a)crashing or b) peeing ourselves with laughter....

i guess you kinda had to be there!
