a Tiger by the Tail

Buggerit....

Volunteed to make "tiger tails" for an under 7 footie team for practice... They are currently using a length of calico...

I have orange furry stripey fabric, but no idea where to start.... Really... I know they tuck the tail into the back of their shorts and that the idea of the game is to chase round and pull the tiger tail and the winner is the last "man" with his still intact...

Any advice gratefully recieved...

Have to have 30 done by Tuesday.. As well as a captain armband and kicker armband.....

Blimey, don't envy you one bit! I made a tiger outfit for my son once, mind you, I did omit the tail (!!)

I found the following link that might help (just for the idea not to buy of course) perhaps to include a little clip on?

If I put a clip on them they may well drag the shorts off when grabbed.... Not sure that would go down too well wi the parents lol... I'm thinking a fabric flap that can be tucked into the waist band.....

She seems to think a strip around the waist either tied or velcroed and then velcro at the back to attach to the tail. Sounds the easiest option to me.

My younger boy does tag rugby, it's a Velcro wrap around the waist we then stick the tags to, so they can be ripped off.

Is wondering exactly how many miles of velcro I'm going to have to buy for a bunch of 30 x7 year olds?????????

How about just a velcro square at the back to attach the tail and a few squares (for various size waists) at the front?

Or elastic round the waist with a patch of velcro at the back, then velcro on the tail to attach it?

Oh, no, scratch that- they'll get twanged!!!!
