After all the back and forth explaining that everything was fine - even the doctor informed them things were fine... Then the pricks final questionnaire to me was a one question Are you suicidal... I was polite in my response, should have simply said don't be stupid you ****in dip shits...
Then their last letter was: You're cut off, and if there is any other way we can help you don't hesitate to ask...

thanks again for the interesting responses. I agree with those who've said that many (if not most) of us suffer depression, or at least depressive symptoms at some point in our adult lives. I can only see that trend getting worse.
The other thing is that a lot of you actually have stuff to be depressed about, ie significantly stressful things like illness or a relative being ill etc.
For me it is pretty much all about being dislocated from my home environment. I know that for sure because the last 2 times I was depressed were when I was living in Australia, and that when I went back home it was like a massive weight had been lifted off my shoulders...
I've also seen a psychologist here, and he was great. In fact I felt like I was doing a bit of a stand up routine (whilst sitting down) with my withering contempt for Geelong and life in Australia..I got the impression he kind of agreed! I'll always love him for that.

Try living where I am now. Last night entertainment over dinner was watching a local family having a roadside crap.

For the best part of 5 years now. I used to one of those people who thought the cure for depression was to snap out of it but I have definitely had to rethink that attitude.
