We were there in July last year and the road was still under construction. I THINK it was opened at the beginning of 2009

I'm off to bed now but if you leave a message on here when you get back in then I'll get it in the morning.

Just been on holiday in WA. Loved every minute although Cervantes is a horrid place. Thought the Pinnacles was nice although a little overrated.

Lake Ballard is beautiful.

So, no proper road suitable for a motorhome, then ?

Just the Brand Hwy ?

True, but the firing range is only rarely in use. When it's not being used you can keep on going up the beach.

I always thought Wedge Island (which is north of Lancelin) was like something from Mad Max with little kids on quad bikes and children driving totally knackered old 4x4s. A bit different.

There will be a sealed road but it isn't open yet. I don't think it will be in the next year or two so its a big diversion via the Brand Highway.

You can drive over the dunes in a 4WD. But the army closes it occasionally for live firing practice so check the West Australian unless you want to be used for target practice!
