Is there a forum about loans/being ripped off
Hi,
Can anyone help?
I have the misfortune of using a particular loan company who have
1). Decided to take the repayments monthly and weekly which I was
charged by mortgage company for missing payment (loan company
had the money).
2). This had a payment fee of £40 to mortgage company for missing payment
and then £30 to bank for lack of funds
I cancelled both payments and agreed to start repayments when refunded money. In the meantine....
3). The 'extra' money I had paid the company decided WITHOUT my consent
to take off the loan :scared: This is normal procedure apparently.
4). Contacted manager and after major arguments he agreed to refund the
money, which he did.
5). In April after contacting and contacting them I still had not received
refund for cost in number 1 - mortgage and bank
6). Still not received refund so begin repaying loan.
7). They send demand for £8.55 and £50.00 for missing payments. I madly
ring and demand that they remove these payments. They agree. Me, at
last HAPPY!!!
8). Not for long. Today receive letter agreeing to payment break I have not
agreed to!!!! AAARRRGGGHHH So I phone again to be told that I
had to stop the charges in number 7. I have not agreed and will pay
interest at the end for the 'payment break' and interest for the 'payment
break'.
Please Please help. Is there a U.K forum that I can harrass other than here?
Was thinking of going to a solicitor. Any ideas, nominations, assistance gratefully received!!!!
You lot are my only sanity and I'm loosing it very quickly :scared:

Have you tried your local Citizens Advice Bureau - they are usually pretty good with money advice or a Money Advice Centre. You will find these in your local telephone book or try online at http://www.citizensadvice.org.uk/index.htm

There is also a financial ombusman (if you google you'll prob. find the contact details)
Another option is to get another loan out with a reputable company and pay off the one thats giving you grief

Thanks for the replies and will contact all of the organisations in the morning.
I was soooo stressed I really couldn't think straight and when I searched the internet it was all American stuff stressing me further :scared:
