Re: Thanks for the Warning you lot!

I have bits of tree in my garden that were not there before, saw power lines down driving this morning, had a job keeping the car straight. Mr PP said the whole house was shaking earlier.

Ive secured what I can and put the rest in the shed - shutters down for tonight as it is getting bad out there now and I will be home early tomorrow so hopefully will get home before the big one starts.

Fingers crossed we keep power.:o

Could have bloody warned me.... I was going to wasH my hair:sneaky:

I sympathize.

In 1987 we had that hurricane in Kent and lost power for 12 days  I had to bring thermos flasks of hot water home from work.

Then the ash tree fell into the living room in Jan 2000. Took 3 months to get the roof mended.

Any chance of finding a generator?

My daughter said parts of the roof were lifting on the school. Other than a few broken branches we've actually fared pretty well so far. :fingerscrossed: tomorrow is actually not worse.

Stay safe all you lot down south.

Its odd... No squeak of avocado tree on roof tonight.... At least I will rest easy knowing that the TREE wont be crashing through my bedroom....

How long will it take for me to grow another mature productive avocado tree????

Do I have time?????

It's pretty bad out there, but not as bad as the march hailstorms (volume of jobs-wise).

I am an SES volunteer and this time, at least, we knew it was gonna happen and our section was manned up ready for it. We have been active since Thursday lunchtime, which in a unit our size isn't easy. It's ongoing, and I, for one have no idea when this is going to be all over and every job finished.

Tie down, or move indoors what you can. If you have any roof tiles missing, water coming in through the roof, doors, skylights etc ring 132 500 and they will get teams out as soon as they can.

Stay safe everyone, and hopefully it will bypass most of you

Rain was bad enough to keep me awake last night, its quiet now but wouldnt surprise me if it started up again. Does anyone know what time the storm is due to hit tomorrow? I am home for 4.15pm, hope I miss it.

Loads of debris in the road when I drove to work this morning and a power pole down as well.
