Default Terrible day!

Huge fire in Kings park, and what started as a small one in Yanchep this morning has gone full circle and now Yanchep National Park is burning out of control

Yikes, I was planning on a trip upto Yanchep. Think might have to wait a bit before I do Yanchep again.

On the Perth Now website, someone that works at Yanchep vet clinic said all injured animals can be brought there free of charge.

There was nothing else about how to volunteer though. Some people are leaving their homes - that was the update an hour ago.

Does anyone have any news on the Yanchep fire?

Selena, if you are reading this - hope you are all OK

Just been reading the news reports & looking at photos of both fires. A few photos looking at the smoke filled sky north of Clarkson which was close to where we stayed/will hopefully be moving to. Took a while to get my bearings of where abouts the fire was in Kings Park & looks like the area we walked around Hope they find who started the fire :curse:

Bridgetown had a full blaze in SW yesterday as well, last we heard was on local radio, talking about evacuations.... Not good.

We're in Clarkson and the smoke smell here is fairly strong. Looking at the sky it's smoky to the north of us extending out over the water.

Thank you for thinking of us Sam ... we are all fine (just got back from camping at the beach). We are getting a bit kippered at the moment from the smoke but we are well away from the fire (up by Guilderton, Moore River) thankfully.

My heart goes out to you all - stay safe and do as you are told!

It is 5 years tomorrow since Canberra lost 500 homes in a major fire - I can relate! Take care, all of you!

Sarah is living with me at the moment and when she got in last night and I told her, the first thing she mentioned was about you and how worried she was.

We got up early this morning to check for an update, both of us really worried.

God I am glad you are safe, you have no idea how glad.
