The mouse is fine as is the touch pad.
what's the laptop? cos it could just be a duff touchpad...those things can die and are a mare to replace...try plugging in a usb mouse?

Well I've run that and nothing has changed.

Everytime I restart it I can't click on anything and the moment I try and use task manager it starts working.

When I try to move stuff it creates a ghost like copy and leaves the one I clicked on in it's original place, the second I let go of the ouse it dissapears.
It wont let me drag stuff out of a folder either

no I haven't tried it in safe mode, although when I did just try it it said it couldn't delete one and asked me to restart the computer so that it could run it on start up.

I only installed it in the last four months.
