Re: A tailor in Melbourne (or Sydney)
Who wants stuff to last 10 15 or 20 years? Whilst I don't like a throw away society I, for one, don't want something to last forever and a day. Don't you get bored with the same old,'same old? My OH bus a decent off the peg number and then buys more as and when.

Re: A tailor in Melbourne (or Sydney)
My OH used to buy from a shop in or near Saville Row, but I can't remember the name - it was off the peg, but they altered it to suit his lack of height. He gets two trousers with one jacket. He like Pink's shirts or Thomas Lewins. Out here he got two suits and three shirts from Ron Bennet for around $1000 and the suits are ok-ish, but the shirts have only lasted a year, though I like them as I don't have to iron them (double cuffed things)- lots of wear on the right cuff as he works in IT.

The downside is that the whole process has changed and that you can't trust a name you once did. Thanks for the tips everyone! |

A good suit is never tiresome and evokes the same feeling with every use! The only suits which become boring or shocking are the ones inspired by fashion rather than style as is evident...
