Sydney Or Melbourne for us?
 

Young migrants with IT background. Which place should be best for us. In terms of IT Job opportunities, Security, Initial settling costs etc. We are not able to pick between Either Sydney or Melbourne. Please help us decide.

Note sure if I count as young - I'm 42 now and was 38 when I emigrated, but I have an IT background and now work for a big IT company in Australia. We chose Melbourne over Sydney mainly as it was much cheaper then to buy a house but I'm not sure if the same applies today. Either city should be great for IT jobs.

You may as well flip a coin. One thing in Sydneys favour is location... It's closer to 4 other Cities. Melbourne 3 Cities. The majority of UK people that had to choose between the two would be happy in either.

Drop out of the rat race and come and join us. Oh and it was raining last night.....but the beaches are still pretty darn good as well as other "stuff".

The Barbie IS the spot for your question and not the Immigration, Visa and Citizenship forum. The Immigration, Visa and Citizenship forum is for people to ask questions and provide advice based on Immigration, Visa's and Citizenship. Asking a question about where you want to live does not fall under this catagory. What part of that do you not understand?

Your qustion is NOT related to the Immigration, Visa and Citizenship forum. It is a question relating to where you may prefer to live. That is a lifestyle or Barbie question.

Sure.. I thought it is related to migration plus, this is not a uncommon question.. discussion on this topic would generally benefit several people who are planning to move. .. Anyways, I see your prospective too.

I don't see any reason for you to start typing in BOLD, and suggesting to go elsewhere.. If that's the attitude , then I must say bye ...

This is the right place for the thread.

There is a forum called Immigration Visas and Citizenship which is for just that. As it says in the Forum Index, Immigration, visa & citizenship discussions for those living in, and migrating to, Australia.

Which city to live in is not part of a discussion on how to migrate, its part of a discussion on lifestyle. Part of the reason for separating them is that the vast majority of people in the Immigration forum have either never been to, or never lived in, Australia, so cannot advise on lifestyle questions like this.
If you want input from the people living here then your question needs to be here where those people will read it and answer it.
