'O M G YOU'RE SOOOOOOOOO LAZY' was the response I got when I asked my 14yo son to move his own empty plate from the coffee table into the kitchen

As number two is banned from driving till the haircut, I took him to school

I yelled "LOVE YOU" out the wound down window as he left the vehicle The look he shot me was priceless.

Younger Sonny Jim informed me yesterday that I'd forgotten to do his washing. My response was "Did you put it in the basket?".

Mum has been replaced with Dad () ...We have a different regime here now, Son.

Guess I've been lucky, in that my 15 yr old only had mild teenage symptoms at present, though seems to be increasingly deaf or forgetful when asked to do something. Hope she is not a late developer and will not get to the full flung hormonal stuff until she leaves home.

She is very good at giving "looks", though they are less effective now she has plucked her monobrow into feminine arches.

Late developer I'd say, based on experience, soreeey

The monobrow on the male teen is a real problem, they wont pluck. And how much body hair do they have occasionally they shave something non facial, and leave the clippings on the bathroom floor.

Similar for me.

Dad have you sorted the washing out yet?
Yes apart from that little pile of Tshirts and underwear over there.
That's not all mine.
No, but I don't know which is yours and which is your brothers so every other item is likely to be yours. Try looking through it.

They are cute when they are little.

Our 4 year old never had terrible twos but I have already started telling her that she has an attitude problem. (try explaining attitude to a 4 year old).

Generally she is a good girl, but I am thinking of leaving home in 7-8 years, if this is what I have to look forward to!

Do you cook their tea too? No wonder they haven't left home yet!

That's the real answer on the cooking.

The boys don't agree with you on the washing though. They say it's therapeutic for me.

It's therapeutic for them maybe!
You are making them far too comfortable Bix, so much so they will never leave. Still, you can have payback later, when you are an incontinent old man, dribbling down your shirt as your dentures fall out & they are still there to look after you.
