They keep a sort of "J cloth" and bottle of spray under the desk but they just never seem to use it.

Besides not everyone is attractive - but nicer than the sentence just handed down...there was a bloke here who told us how bad it was in Pakenham a few years ago.
And I confessed to over-egging that last bit - isn't that my right as a BE poster?

I don't like seeing shops full of fat people. There won't be any cakes or chips left.

Whole milk - fat content of 4%
Semi skimmed milk - fat content of 1.7%
Skimmed milk - fat content 0.3%
Australia milk (ref http://www.dairyaustralia.com.au/Pro...s-of-Milk.aspx)
Regular/Full Cream/Whole Milk - fat content at least 3.2%, average 3.8%
Reduced Fat - fat content approx 2%
Low fat - fat content less than 1.5%
Skim - fat content up to 0.15%
Milks may have other things added, such as extra protein, calcium, Vitamin D or milk solids. Some specialist milks have been tailored for specific markets and have been modified, eg iron or fish oil added, low in lactose, etc.
UK semi-skimmed is somewhere between Australia low fat or reduced fat. It is a balance for individuals to decide if they are prepared to accept the slightly higher fat content of Reduced Fat milk (sometimes referred to as HiLo) which is often cheaper (seen for <$2 at the moment), vs Low Fat (seen for >$3.60 here in Perth). Anyone really concerned about fat levels might just have to pay up for Skimmed milk. If you want to reduce from a higher fat level to a lower fat level milk, do it gradually. It's a big insult to the taste buds to change from Full Fat to Skimmed in one hit .

I'm sure given the time you could work out a series of alternate routes that could successfully churn out butter, cottage cheese or yoghurt.

It's not that your doing it wrong Badge, it's merely that after loading the milk into your rucksack & jogging the 10K back home it's started to churn itself into cottage cheese.

I've found alternative regimes..

It is. I have been known to sneak some of my boy's full-fat.
I was told years ago that if you are fairly healthy then full-fat is the way to go anyhow.
And thanks.

Even the thought of drinking full fat milk makes me want to spew.

Adults are supposed to limit saturated fat intake. Some people dealing with weight management or blood lipid problems keep a closer eye on these things. OH and I use skimmed milk, the kids use low fat (now that they are older). Dairy is an important food group for nutrition. I just love dairy products for their variety and taste and I would find it very hard if I had to use non-dairy products.
