suitcases

Waswondering if anyone knew of any great places to get suitcases at reasonable cost, we need to buy 3 for our journey out, needs to hold the 20kg as not sure which airline we are going with yet. Want to start filling them as we sort the house out.

Thanks

TK Maxx is always a good place to start.

Re: suitcases

if you have a big outlet centre that might be a good place to look - McArthur Glen in York has a couple of baggage stores and that's where I'm gonna look (depends on what you mean by reasonable - we wanna get something good quality that will last but get it for the best possible price - so this is one of the places we'll look as well as the internet of course)

We used very "old" cases salvaged from friends and family and ditched them when we got here. Actually see a lot of people using cardboard boxes now! Strong ones made for removalists. Probably cheaper than suitcases - easy to customise and identify. Use trolleys mostly so no handles no problem

Make sure whatever you get is a lightweight. It's hard enough keeping the kilos down with the luggage, let alone losing more because of the weight of the case. Oh and don't get massive ones because you still have the limit per case weight to consider.

The amount of clothes, teabags, shreddies etc I have stuffed in these.

Zip up check bags from the pound shop, the huge size, put one inside the other, very strong if youve double them up.

Plus nobody wants to steal bags that look like a hobo owns them:lol:.

Now its cooler the teens kids have just pulled out a huge bag of american clothing, Holister etc, the prices make people here weep:lol: it all came back in bags from the looney store (canadian pound shop equivalent ).
