Re: Streaming video - my experience
Hi,
Need to buy a new PVR, and was considering a Samsung BD-H8500A 3D Blu-Ray Player Twin HD Tuner 500GB.
Anyone have any comments as to whether this will be able to access netflix etc???
If it could access iplayer / netflix etc, would I be able to record these onto the internal 500GB drive??
Sorry, I have no clue about this stuff, but would like to buy hardware that give me some options, so I can have a go to get a setup functioning in the near future.
Thanks

Just wanted to add that you cannot record Netflix or iplayer (and why would you want to if you can just stream it any time that you want)
BBC iplayer on Windows has a download option where you can watch offline. It keeps them for 30 days before they delete. The only real advantage of this is if you have a poor internet connection that prevents you from streaming

Get iPlayer Automator
I just pick a whole load to UK shows (it does ITV as well) and they all save to my NAS (at hight def) so I can watch them with none of the dreaded stutter you can get with iPlayer at times (especially when watching in high def).

I sometimes use Get iPlayer Automator:

iplayer buffering seems to have been sorted out. 4oD and C5 are unwatchable at times. No ITV app on Roku - it's shite anyway

Hoveactually and irishbloo, thanks for tip, hopefully it helped someone.
I had already been down at 10am, but we bought a load of stuff, so think we did ok overall.

This was good, John Bishop is a lovely, funny guy.

It's a pity as I'm off sick at the moment and there is plenty on the BBC to watch
