That's only because the vast majority are so piddly-poor

Although I have to say that Cafe Nero are improving a lot recently - despite the surfeit of Polish baristas, who have really got their act together

I can remember the days before Starbucks about 10 years ago and the coffee scene was pretty ordinary. When *$$ came on the scene it was almost as if the others lifted their game to compete and the result is what you see now - far more variety and much better quality than we had before. I have been known to enjoy a nice caramel macchiato in my time and we can but hope that those remaining will pick up the wi fi hotspot gap in the market which will open up with *$$ going.

As for coffee in UK - I must admit to resorting to *$$ here because some of the other stuff that is churned out as cappucino is dire! And when are they going to get chai latte???

I have to admit, despite the stuff I do love about blighty, coffee is not one of them - the coffee is bloody awful. Whenever we go back we struggle to find anything decent.

Starbucks, no matter which country you are in, is woeful. The last one I bought (in Bris) I had to throw away as it was like weak coffee flavoured water.

Yeah it's ok. I used to work for their sister company so still get it wholesale - Top Class is their best bean I reckon. We're that anal we have a cafe size grinder and a plumbed in Berazza at home.

However, I still prefer Segafreddo, that's the dogs ...... but sooo expensive.

God yeah, they are crap! I asked for a Chai Latte at Gloria Jeans and they gave me a cup of tea. I hate tea, so took it back and asked for CHAI LATTE. Thick gits didn't know what one was. Said there was no such thing.
