Default St George's Day April 23rd in Sydney

G'day folks,

Does anyone know of any meet-ups or events happening for St George's Day this year, in Sydney? There are 4 of us, eager to join in!

Cheers

There aren't many St George's Day events in England sadly. Why on earth would there be any in Sydney 12,000 miles away?

St Patrick has his day, why wouldn't St George? Brisbane has at least one pub celebrating over that one weekend

For some weird reason I will never understand the world and his wife decide they're Irish one day a year. Can't think of any other national day like that. Mind you I also have no idea why the English as a nation don't celebrate 23 April.

It's based around Pub Culture for the most part MP... So why not

Might as well be the patron saint of the "Piss up" .... I've even been to them.

I've just realised that I've been to more St Patricks days do's than St George ones LOL !!!!

3 v 1

Two of the St Pats ones were in Aus, with Aussie mates that were indeed Irish for the day.

About par for central Brisbane. There are a lot of places more pricey. And if you want the beer/football combination.......

Good luck with that Brian, I don't know why a lot of the English don't celebrate that day.

There's lots of things going on in and around where I live.

That place is ok during the week, we used to go there from work for lunch, Weekends its the domain of those ladies who wear belts instead of skirts and is very noisy, hey i'm not knocking it or those who like that kind of drinking culture. i'm too senile for that now, give me the Irish Club or O'Malleys, a bit of space to read while drinking, or the Oig if its a football night.
Were you just here during the week? Weekends (fri/Sat) in Brisbane now are very different to weeknights
