Personally I think the ute is very useful but not when people use them as a sports car. My ute was for towing the boat/caravan and taking stuff to the tip.

A ute is a pickup truck. I suspect that they were once called 'utility vehicles', but that would have lasted about ten minutes before the Aussies and their truncation obsession shortened the name to its first syllable.

Oft furnished with large roo-bars, utes make the perfect vehicle for not only producing roadkill, but transporting said dead animal matter back to the barbie while still having plenty of room in the back to carry a few slabs of icy cold beer.
