Default Speed Typing

The more I look into this MSc course, the more I realise how much typing I am going to have to do. I can type, but my attempts at speed typing end up as a mess.

Does anyone know of anything online or software to teach me type quicker, and better?

Get yourself a dictaphone, dictate what you want typed and send the tapes to me. I'll transcribe it for you at a very reasonable price.

No, go with my suggestion. I need some cash for the $325 pair of shoes I've just seen online.

Hmm, I'm not sure you'll have to do THAT much typing. Thesis quality by weight went out quite a while ago.

Personally I'd say your best bet is to forget typing accuracy. Accept that anything you write is going to have a good few passes through to get the quality up, so school yourself to NOT correct things on first pass - only fixing up the spelling/typing errors with the grammar errors on first read through.

This is partly why I'd not get to hung up on the old fashioned typing classes either - they tend to be stuck in an age of typewriters and correcting fluid.

Rather your main problem is going to be structuring your thoughts, organising them, such that they make coherent sense. Learn to think and type without concious thought on the mechanics. That's where you'll need the attention.

As for typing, you ought to be able to churn out 70 pages in a week, which is quite fast enough for your purposes.

have a new sewing machine to buy... Dirt cheap at $2,999 .... So you can see, my need is greater than hers at $385 for a pair of shoes

Unfortunately for Dorothy and Eddie, I agree with Garry. You'll find your typing quality improves the more you do too.

By the time you've reworked and rewritten it, you'll have picked up any errors.

If you do want it typed up by someone else, remember that WA needs to share the wealth and I'll do it for you

One of my lecturers sent out an email to everyone all in text speak. I asked her to please send it again in English because I couldn't understand what she was trying to say and didn't she think it was a tad unprofessional for her to expect correct use of the language in our submissions but she sends out crap.
