So what will be the court verdict?

Verdict is due at 2:15, what do you expect to happen?

And what do you think should happen?

Roberts, Waters, Nash, Ludlam, Joyce are out

The others survive.

No idea why caravan survived - given how many porky pies he told.

Bit confusing, all this is. (Yoda impression unintentional). Basically they can all now sort out their citizenship quick smart, have a bye-election, and potentially get re-elected?

I don't always agree with Barnaby, but I do quite like him.

I do hope that that One Nation uber-plonker Malcolm Roberts doesn't get back in. Climate change deniers having a voice in parliaments are a danger to society.

Barnaby can in theory stand (and sounds like he wants to)

However the senators get recounted and the next one on the ticket get the tap. That means Roberts is out, unless the new senator then resigns and creates a casual vacancy.

Reading the judgement doc now.

Roberts is standing for the Qld State seat of Ipswich

The Caravan judgement seems to rest on a very sharp knife edge - concerned with whether the citizenship which he got on his mother getting citizenship could be said to be in place objectively or subjectively. It seems that because the court couldn't be sure what the hell the italian courts were doing, they wouldn't throw him out.

As I say, very much on the knife edge - italian incompetence saves him.
