It was daffodil day yesterday, so someone or something decapitated all my daffodils at the front of my house.:frown:
At least it wasn't the kids. |

Well, I discovered what was decapitating my flowers yesterday- a blooming brush turkey scratching in the bed. Add that to the long list of destructive/poisonous/biting beasties.

Re: Signs of Spring
We have buds beginning to show on the deciduous tree in the front garden and buds showing on the evergreen hedge (no idea what these things are, the hedge smells beautiful when its flowers come out). Unfortunately, the kids' car, which is parked under the deciduous tree in the front garden is covered in some sort of strange tree ejaculate.
It was also flaming hot yesterday when I was tramping through the streets of Penrith, dressed in jeans and a thick top. As my leg is all strapped up I can't see me wearing anything shorter/temperature appropriate any time soon. And even when it isn't all strapped up, I have THE whitest legs in the entire world. Well, the bit of skin you can see through the yeti hair is positively albino. Perhaps hippy skirts are the way to go? Can you wear those with trainers without looking like an escapee from the nuthouse? The (newly working) aircon didn't know whether to heat or cool. ALL the animals are moulting. I'm fairly sure there's a brown/black/white/orange hairpuppy growing under the coffee table but I can't get on the floor to properly check. The grass is growing again. To be honest, I'm not sure it actually stopped growing this year. I love spring in the mountains :) |
Re: Signs of Spring
My house is only cold until 11am then it starts to warm up
I couldn't believe it when I went outside today and realised how warm it was! I'm hearing different birds now too. Over winter it was mainly parrots and kookaburras as well as the beautiful sounding magpie. Now, there is a lot of whistling and tweeting :D |
Re: Signs of Spring
Haven't had the heater on for 3 days now....but still use the electric blanket to take the chill off the bed.:o

Re: Signs of Spring
I don't understand how temperatures can consistently reach mid twenties during the day but my house is still cold in the morning.
My husband doesn't feel it but I do! |

Most of the rooms don't get that warm until later in the day - and then because of the single glazing and gaps around doors and things, the heat escapes pretty well over night leaving a cold start to the day. My bedroom is at the front and the sun warms it up well, but the back bedrooms are cooler due to less sun so I may have to move (or cook  ).
I know I will appreciate it in summer but at the moment it doesn't get the sun. |
