This was my cat Jimmi. She slept on my bed every night and spent every evening on my lap purring away.

I don't see the death of my cat as being pointless.
besides I am referring to all the "Show us your bollocks/tits/cock" threads which has sprung up in the last couple of days... One was funny, two was a parody, but thirty is just daft.
