Shop Pricing

I've been to some shops and bought some books. Now in England these prices are, lets say, 5 pounds now if I bought that here it should be around about $10.99
Nope, here they charge the same book in the price range of $16-$20
OMG total ripoff!

Also last month there was an ad on my laptop on the side of a website saying something about everything in Dick Smith being on sale! I have a fave game called Style Boutique and I wanted to get a second one, well I went to Dick Smith and it was the normal price of $70!

Outrage!

You'll find a lot of threads here that moan about the rip off Aus is...Unfortunately, the book pricing is governed by law. I know that Dymocks complained to the Fed Govt about the fact that they cannot offer better pricing to Aus customers. Most ppl probably get their books from abroad.

I have noticed too that the ads here make some outrageous claims, like in the days of charlatans roamingin the wild west, claiming to have the miracle cure.

Remember that "my girlfriend looks good, yeah??". Such a misleading ad!

Obviously not included in their sale then, most places have it at $69 full price, and Dick Smith will price match with anyone cheaper.

Must admit though, best price I can see it for is $56.
Must still be working on $2.5 to the £ ...
$56 = £22 which is the Amazon price.

Actually with Dick Smith, you should have waited till the sale was over, it is now down to $59 on their website today

It can be worth using EB games to trade in a non working DS for a new one.

We were offered $100 trade in for ours. It is always worth asking.

Take the broken one to EB Games, and ask if they will do a part exchange for it.

They quoted $150 (?I think) to repair my daughters [pink] one, but offered $100 trade in against a new one.

Re: Shop Pricing

I bought a Lite Blue DS Lite from Kmart for AUD 179 (includes console, game, 6 plastic game cases, 6 in 1 pack). EB had a pre owned console for AUD 138 and new pack for AUD 209.
Alternately, there is Ebay

I wonder if the price difference is worth it ?

I remember I went and she said they could do a bundle for $300 ($215 with discount) and it had a game and it included the memory card that I needed but I REALLY wanted the hot pink one so I couldn't get it (plus I already had that game, it was Imagine: Girl Band) so, yeah!
