Sex in marriage.......

I was interested to read this yesterday:

What is 'normal' or 'the usual'? Can a marriage last without intimacy? What's considered just the right amount of sex? Is it over-rated?

I wouldn't be surprised. Personal relationships are strange things at times, after all, and there are many reasons why people get together as a couple, and then stay together through thick and thin.

What is "normal"? What's normal for you may not be for others. If couples are otherwise content with their marriage then why should not having sex be a problem? Would people be commenting or calling it sad if those couples said that they were otherwise happy but didn't eat meals together?
See, believe it not, sex is not the only thing in a relationship.

Who knows, I echo.
I do remember a phase when one or more of he kids was young MrsB was a bit not in the mood, and I didn't push it. (Emphasing the age-old pressures of work, kids, life - you name it interfering). Here follows what we did in that particular situation...(I am not judging a situation where both couples want to abstain).
What got us out of that mood - was just doing it, whether we felt it or not - even if it was a bit disappointing. What that meant was that we were more likely to want to do it again, and not feel pressured that next time. As soon as the pressure was off, it all snowballed.
Friends of ours had the same issue, where they still wanted sex, but were too busy tip-toeing around each other - dealing with stress, particular times of their life. They copied us - and started making it compulsory once/twice a week and it really kick-started that side of things. The once or twice a week compulsory then ends up 'we want to do it' because the gloves are off.
They were thanking us for weeks!
