SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WARNING - SOUTHEAST QUEENSLAND
for DAMAGING WIND and LARGE HAILSTONES


For people in the IPSWICH CITY and parts of the BRISBANE CITY, GOLD COAST CITY, LOGAN CITY and SCENIC RIM Council Areas.

Issued at 5:54 pm Monday, 30 May 2011.

The Bureau of Meteorology warns that, at 5:55 pm, severe thunderstorms were detected on weather radar near the area between Boonah and Beaudesert, Maroon Dam and Amberley. These thunderstorms are moving towards the east. They are forecast to affect Ipswich and Beaudesert by 6:25 pm and Kooralbyn, Canungra, Mount Tamborine, Tamborine and Redbank Plains by 6:55 pm.

Damaging winds and large hailstones are likely.

The Bureau of Meteorology warns that, at 3:55 pm, severe thunderstorms were detected on weather radar near Slacks Creek. They are forecast to affect Camp Hill by 4:25 pm and Brisbane CBD by 4:55 pm.

Damaging winds and large hailstones are likely.

Fizzled out before it got up to you I think. Looks like a fair bit of rain out to sea which might come across overnight but no more hail expected.....

Yep, and I always have my camera with me, but the trees and clutter don't make it easy to take pics. Have to get to higher ground mostly to take some good ones.

Anyway nothing here stormwise tonight so far.
