Beginning to sound like there's a train going overhead.

Aw, that's sad Been thinking about all the wildlife and animals left to fend for themselves. I don't think people could take them to the evacuation centres.

I know and don't forget the damage to habitats. I know people are more important than animals but surely compassion says that we help each other. for so many families their pet is a member and not being able to take them changes the decision making. I saw a heart wrenching excerpt with an elderly lady and her dog.

for me my dog comes with me. my children come first but I think being made to leave my family pet is inhumane. I can understand the logistical nightmare and the safety of the masses at the centres but there has to be an answer. How can you leave your charges behind?

my husband would have to stay of course to look after him. I would feel forced to donate him to the cause.

If anyone is affected by this tragedy (flood or cyclone) and is forced to leave their pet - please pm me if I am near enough to help

Track map just updated:

http://www.bom.gov.au/products/IDQ65002.shtml

Puts the centre line near Mission Beach now by the looks of it...my favourite spot around there...hope there are some Cassowaries left in the end!

Map shows the most destructive winds would probably not quite make it into Cairns.

Offering my prayers up to a non-entity for your safety during Cyclone Yasi.

Hoping to see all of you back here when it is over sighing a great big "Phew" of relief.
