Scotland and Independance

Re: Scotland and Independance
The James Connolly march was deemed sectarian a while back, and was banned - they choose to peacefully march and the police allow them.
I also thought the Hibernian marches were also banned but it seems it's specific areas.

There's a tendency for the SNP to claim that UK news sources are pushing a Westminster line on the likely consequences of the mismanagement arising from a 'yes' vote.
So here's the financial advice Deutsche Bank is giving to it's investment customers on the potential benefits/threats to scotland of an attempt at 'independence'. Can't say the germans are pushing a Cameron line...

It's not pretty.

Re: Scotland and Independance
Why do so many English seem to be getting their knickers in a twist about this? It's a Scottish vote, which only Scottish residents have, any attempt by someone not directly involved in the consequences for Scotland could be seen as panicking for purely selfish reasons (this seems to play right into the hands of those relentlessly quoting Braveheart). Their destiny is in their own hands, which is all any of us want so yes or no it's their choice. I find the entire basis of the campaign a bit childish though, if you don't vote for (insert choice here) then you must be retarded, yeah real mature guys
Good luck to em, whatever they decide

Re: Scotland and Independance
Sinn Fein one of the leading political groups in Northern Ireland had clear and defined links to the IRA and the provisional IRA who were also funded by Irish Americans at the heart of the American government.
Many of the Sinn Feinn politicians have blood on their hands. Sinn Fein have now been incorporated in to main stream politics but there are still a minority with extreme view points.
You come on here and shout off about the orange order being linked to the likes of the UVF. Yes they probably were, but I fail to see in the scheme of things in Northern Ireland how this makes a difference.
Each side were / still are corrupt to the core and neither side can hold its head high in that respect. But each side have a right to walk the streets if they wish and a right talk about their views, however much we might dislike them, and I do.
Are the Orange Order worse than the on the rise 'Front National' in France? Well you cannot vote for the Orange Order as far as I am aware, nor can anyone just roll up and join the order, they keep themselves to themselves in that respect.

In places like loyal Larkhall the green traffic lights continually get bricked in and when the council once put up a green fence around a park it was painted blue in the morning. Now that's 'pride' in a religion (not)

Re: Scotland and Independance
It's already been pointed out that if scotland wants to join the euro, they are going to have to give Germany more say over their budget than Westminster currently has - that was the fallout of Greece and saving the euro.
And as the report says, they are going to have to either/and increase taxes/cut services to get their borrowing level under control. So they wouldn't even get allowed to join without hacking about their budget like a tory wet dream.

There are always valid reasons not to do something.....but sometimes you have to follow the heart.
