schools...?
hey
In Australia do GCSE grades count as anything? Or will I have to carry on secondary school there? I was wondering because my parents are thinking of moving there, at the moment I am in year 10 but by the time we get there I would have completed my GCSE's and would be of college age (in England) /\/\ilz |

He chose TAFE and was able to continue IT although the first 6 month course was pretty basic to him Although they didn't exactly "accept" the GCSE they did acknowledge it showed a good level of education. By the time he finished 2 years at TAFE he was learning at quite an advanced level which could have led onto university had he chosen that path. |
Re: schools...?
My daughter had just completed her GCSES prior to coming out to Oz.She has 12 GCSES 10 A* Although they are "acknowledged" here they do not count towards a place at Uni.
She had to do year 11 again and now is in year 12 and working towards an OP score which is paramount to gaining entry to Uni. She has found the course work fairly easy compared to her GCSES as it is fairly similar in content same amount of work involved though! So good luck to you and keep focused :) |

Hi Princess 91
No probs, if you need to have a chat with any teenagers I have 2! my sons 14 and my daughters 15 she'll b 16 in Dec and she put herself back to year 10 at school and hates it, says she hasn't learned one thing here!!! if you want i can PM you their MSN addresses an you can have a chat with them, my daughter spends every min on MSN talking to her friends back home. But they can give you an insight to what its like to come to Oz from a teenagers perspective ok Phyllis:thumbup: |
