Could be wrong, unlikely obviously ;)but I think people hold back far more now than they used to. We went through a stage when very sensitive flowers complained constantly about how others 'talked/typed' that it's put people off and they tend to think 'oh sod it I can't be arsed' and just say what they believe and be prepared to discuss/argue their point without resorting to aggressive and/or rude comments.

I usually refrain from aggressive or rude comments, Does that make me a sensitive flower?:o:sneaky:

I post as I am in RL. I endeavour to be polite, forthright when required, but still respecting the right others have to their opinions (even if they are quite obviously wrong :sneaky:).

Treat others as you wish to be treated.

:goodpost:

I agree, it's how you say something, not what you say.

We might not all agree on a matter and that's absolutley fine, it's when people feel the need to be nasty or bitchy about it, there's just no need for that kind of behaviour in my opinion. I often wonder if the people who do get nasty and bitchy on here would actually be like that in real life. I bet not.

Treat people with respect and you'll get the respect back. End of!

No, generally I don't think we do.

Look at the forum for instance. Those considered on the edge like Amazulu and Grayling tend to say what they want irrespective of backlash. Yet are they really on the outer extremes? I think not.

Decorum may rule the majority but I'm sure both have many who agree with their views but don't necessarily voice their feelings.

So are we Wusses?

I love them both BTW
They can't help being half wrong, half of the time.

I thought I had toned things down a lot nowadays:lol:

Very true Mol.
The problem I have is that so much gets misconstrued. You could read something and see it in a sarcastic way or read it another way and see it as something totally different.

I'm always polite and considerate

NOT! I think it depends on the theme of the thread that I'm posting in, it could be encouraging an all things nice or it could be brutally honest or lighthearted comedy sometimes a mixture of them all! I've not got any dirty innuendos in lately :ohmy:

Quite often it's down to what mood/attitude the reader has. What is read as bitchy/nasty by one person can be read by another as possibly humorous and lighthearted. There have been many occasions when a writer has been left dumbfounded by accusations of aggressive behaviour when that was the last thing they meant. One coin two sides.
