Hello, how easy going is Australia about dogs? Is it the case that they're not allowed in anywhere? Are they allowed on public transport/trains/buses/taxis etc.

Unless it is a specially trained dog for the disabled, the usual response is that it is
a) not allowed in shops;
b) not on public transport;
c) not allowed off the leash unless in a recognised and fenced "off leash" area in parks etc (don't forget YOU cleanup after them);
d) some breeds, ie greyhounds etc, must be muzzled and restrained;
e) registered with the approipriate local authority;
f) if a declared dangerous animal/breed, signs must be erected on the property boundry warning people.
I'm sure others can add to this list.
