No koalas but there are wallabies in the Peak district.

Also parrots are becoming very common in the UK

The Ring necked parakeet was one of the most reported birds in the UK last year. There are now around 12000 living wild.

Hi G
Where've you been lately?

Are you familiar with the Tissington Trail? Just looking for a section to walk tomorrow, and preferably with access to a pub with a roaring fire (Or do you have any other recommendations for places for a country walk in the Peak District?)

How much snow have you got up your way?

Hi HP

I've been in the Canary islands for a while

The second picture was taken about 4.15 ish and that is about what snow is left. Very little at all on the lower ground.

we are about 10 miles from Tissington but the High Peak trail is only a mile or so away.
A nice (fairly easy) walk is around Carsington water (8 miles) on a good trail. Good pub at Kirk Ireton and a couple in Brassington nearby. Also one in Carsington village. These places are just over the hill from me
The Bear at Alderwasley (a couple of miles away towards Belper) is also very good.
Depends on how strenuous a walk you want.

Dove valley is nice and the cold weather should keep the crowds away. That is not far from the Tissington trail. There is a pub at Fenney Bentley just off the trail which is also nearby.

I live nearer the High peak trail which starts at Cromford (near to Matlock) and joins the Tissington trail a bit further on towards Buxton..
If the weather is clear it should be a beautiful day with just enough snow to give a good covering unless we get some more tonight

Loads of good places to walk really. You just need a good OS map.

May walk round the reservoir myself tomorrow.

Have a good day.

G
