Re: Rolf Harris
Plus society as a whole had a real chance to halt this way back in 1974/75 when the Sunday People broke the news about this group. Someone in power pulled the plug on an all out attack on the morals of this group.
This group was an offshoot of a gay rights group which is why gays were treated so roughly back then. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Paedophile_Information_Exchange Believe it or not, the next person to question older people interest into younger people into the consciousness of people around the country was this bloke in this infamous interview. |

Steve, you seem to have some deep seated issues about this, more than most people, which would seem to indicate that you have some personal experience with this in your family or close friends. If this is so your judgement will always be clouded and less rational than people with no personal experience. This may well be why your posts are coming over as very extreme and therefore endendering the reactions they are getting. I have thought about making this post for quite a while, but held off in case you decided that you would really leave the subject, however your posts are inflammatry to many people and making this thread into a Steve against the rest argument, and I fell it might be a good idea for you to back off and let the thread dies a natural death, of continue on topic. We all know your views now, and while we amy have some sympathy, the vast majority on here do not agree with your extreme ideas.

I kind of agree, In one post he basically told me to do one ! just because I have a different mind set to his.
I took a back seat but I have just watched it unfold how I thought it would, I did not want to feed the fire but it does not look now as though I even needed too. |

right on most counts, but I would rather see a compromise on so called extreme ideas, than on 'reasonable' ones
You added fuel to the fire when you said it was perfectly ok to **** a 13 year old <snip> I said in some countries it is, and it still is so get used it FFS |
Re: Rolf Harris
I'll go even further and say what Rolf did probably happened to almost every UK women of my Mothers age group in that generation and generations before. It just wasn't talked about back then. I'm not going to ask her of course, but I bet I'm on the right track.
I reckon what we're left with is what happens when society does a complete U turn within the space of 60 years. |
Re: Rolf Harris
Most of the rock stars of that era would also be classed as paedophiles, but the girls involved would never come forward because they were the instigators, there was always a crowd of young girls at the stage door after a performance, and they were out to get a really personal performance, a notch for their bedpost. OK the guys shouldn't have done it, but when you get a crowd of young girls all begging for it, then they were unlikely to ask for their birth certificate first. I don't condone it, but the days of the groupies were what they were, and I'm sure there are some these days, but the performers are much more wary.

Re: Rolf Harris
One other illustration to perhaps show how endemic this was throughout society in the past.
My father always told me back in the 70's that the nursery rhyme, "Round and round the garden like a teddy bear" was a tool invented by perverts to have a go at kids. He really hated hearing it. |

Re: Rolf Harris
We had a Art teacher Mr Hilton, who was banged up for touching girls, but............. in 1987 - 1989 the same happened, same teacher, that was my class, girls in class, nothing happened over it.
in 2002 he went to prison for 3 years, for the same thing but a later class, so something changed between 1989 and 2000, I would say about 1996 is when it started to change Wow its actually recorded on the internet - http://ukpaedos-exposed.com/2012/04/...on-colchester/ |

I sincerely hope that no one in here has to go through or witness the fall out from child abuse, it's really not nice, to see your best mate in tears because his wife sees her uncles face whenever he goes near her. To see your mum break down when it becomes shockingly clear to her how close her son came to being raped at 11 years old, or to see what having to look ak pornographic images of children in order to catch the bastards can do to a man. I really hope none of you have to go through this, it may well change your view if you do. Over dramatised Andyrich?? you know exactly what you can do |

I said I respect other countries cultures and beliefs. You are a drama queen, in any of the posts I have spoken about I have in no way agreed with older men and younger child type girls, that does not mean that the age of consent cant be lowered for people of close ages. The age of consent here in Spain was 13, its now 14, you used to be able to marry at 14 its now 16, I think that is about right, but I don't think it is right a older man is having sex with a child type girl, with consent or not, I think there should be a balance of how the consent is allowed, like in Germany There is no international law or guidelines on the age of consent so you cant just say what you think is right and bugger everyone else. You have twisted everything I have said to 40 and 60 yr olds, I have never said that is ok in my mind. Sadly there are countries that will turn a blind eye to that, I also said that documentaries leading up to the world cup, rather than exposing underage sex, actually look like they are encouraging it. The girls in the films certainly are. For the record this is my feelings to tell you, no one should ever feel under pressure to have sex, and whatever the age of consent does not automatically mean they should be having sex at that age. |
