FWIW, both were leaving anyway. In case you haven't been following.

https://www.abc.net.au/news/2020-05-...onaro/12219156

Constance had a crack at running for the federal seat last year which was premature however he needs to start his pitch for the federal seat now. It's held by Labor by a slim margin and Constance is very popular in the region. It makes sense. Constance is a bafoon anyway. Good to see him go.

Barilaro has a few mental health issues based around koala's. Look it up. We wish him all the best.

More will follow but that's factional politics for you. Change is good.

Well done NSW, Looks like I may get that East Coast camping trip up to Coffs in our Campervan in late November after all. Might even get back to Vic via Bourke, Nyngan, Broken Hill and hopefully on to the Oodnadatta to William Creek if SA joins the opening in December.... That could be a tad warm lol.

Could be time to finally upgrade our Campervan with freedom pending.

First thing planned a weekend away with a dozen of my old workmates meeting in Albury with our NSW friends sometime in early November.

Can see the light on that freedom road right now and making real plans. Can finally enjoy our retirement travel wish list.

Next year those European trips

Thanks for leading the way NSW....

You may have hit the top of the curve in Vic. Fingers crossed.

Get through this and you won't be locking down again or being threatened for lockdown again.

I have to say, it's not really NSW leading the way. NSW is taking its lead from Europe which has a pretty simple message. Get vaxxed and we live with the virus.

From Australias POV that is. Especially compared to the recalcitrant states.

Yes true. Be thankful for your outbreak. Without it there would be no international borders opening in November.

Default RIP NSW

Mostly every other developed country in the world has based its covid strategy on science and medical advice.

NSW now appears to be run by a ultra conservative religious zealot with 6 kids and a penchant for MAGA politics.

Ignore the science at your peril.
I have confirmed Dr Chant did not endorse this new roadmap. The Chief Health Officer warned the new Premier these changes come with risk, but the decision was ultimately a matter for the government. A shift from Perrottet away from “the health advice.”
@9NewsAUS
I feel genuinely sorry for everyone in New South Wales, you didn't deserve to have consequences of this man's ambition thrust up on you. Queensland is a safe haven, if you get the chance to move here until the dust settles please take it.

If you work in the health sector you have my deepest sympathies for the dark months ahead.

1. Don't count your borders until they're open
2. Iceland. No massive outbreak. High vaccination rates. Border opened. Proof that you don't need death and destruction for people to do the right thing- just good public health messaging and at least six different types of vaccines to chose from (Moderna, AstraZ, Pfizer, Jansen, CureVac, Sanofi).

Trust people to do the right thing, give them a choice and make it freely available. Simple.

Ho Ho. What a load of nonsense. Recall the Trump Fauci disagreements? When did Fauci ever pull rank over government? I think you will find all developed countries take on board the medical advice and every other piece of advice thrown their way, and attempt to make a balanced judgement. Except in Queensland. The Granny has been calling the shots since March 2020 and The Palette points to her and says "she says".

Queensland will learn balance one day, but Queensland has always been slow.

PS. even New Zealand are dropping the elimination approach. You are preaching a position increasingly losing favour everywhere.

Yeah he doesn't like condoms. Nor do I and I am not Catholic.

What would be your reaction if he was a devout Muslim? That would be OK right as left wingers love the fact that you can't say a bad word about Muslims, but a Catholics are fair game right?

No need to pity us, thank you. I am quite glad to be living in a progressive state where officials try to make balanced decisions and are well aware that we're living in a connected world, not a hermit kingdom. How many Queenslanders are forced to camp in NSW because the Qld government locked them out of their own state? So much for that.
https://www.smh.com.au/national/karr...30-p58w3m.html

As a health professional, I would be deeply concerned working in Queensland over the next few months. Hospitals and emergency departments are already struggling under the current demand - without Covid! Of course, health systems will be stretched during a pandemic. But Queensland's health system is already under massive strain despite not having to deal with a surge due to Covid. Health is a state matter. The Queensland Government is the only one to blame for that.
https://www.brisbanetimes.com.au/nat...06-p58xt8.html

Queensland is doing what they do best - blame the Feds and ask for more money. Hilarious and lazy. Looks like Queensland has been complacent despite having had the novelty of 18 months to prepare. Good luck.

I am currently sat on Bournemouth beach (having a gorgeous chocolate cake and coffee) life here in England has pretty much returned to normal...I am due to have my covid booster in a week, all in all I think we have done a great job handling this pandemic, hopefully Australia will soon be back to normal and be able to enjoy the up and coming summer.
