Rising electricity prices.
No, not here. I just saw this and was amazed, we had noticed electricity going through the roof the 12 years we were in Queensland but wow this was a shock.

Well I was hoping to avoid the nutters that inhabit that part of the forum :D Just a discussion about electricity prices, it has been mentioned that people planning on returning should look at the rising cost of electricity, for some like us the prices here are a welcome sight ;)
Mods can move it if they feel inclined. |

Mods can move it if they feel inclined. Insulting the nutters here may have resulted in random acts of aggression toward yoy were we not all teaching the world to sing in perfect bloody harmony:sneaky: |

Re: Rising electricity prices.
Oh look, prices have risen in the UK too. Quelle surprise ;) Perhaps not the same rises that Australia has experienced in parts but from what I have read pay rises in Australia on average have been higher than in the UK 0.7% vs 3.9% in 2013.
I'm not sure what the purpose of you posting this thread where you did in the first place if only to troll the members of this site that may be bored enough to go in there in the first place. http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/business-24607242 |

Mods can move it if they feel inclined. I was under the impression elecricity was on the rise in the UK... I haven't had an electricity bill in 2 years.... You have a funny way of building a case.... did you complete Year 12? |
Re: Rising electricity prices.
When this just announced increase hits it will mean that Queensland electricity prices will have risen 35.5% in just 12 months at the time of the first next increase bill to bill.
Water is holding steady at 22% increase for the same period , in Qld , at the moment , but there s plenty of time for that to change and it won't be downward. |
Re: Rising electricity prices.
Here's another report. You are typical of the 'if it doesn't affect me, it isn't happening' brigade here.

Re: Rising electricity prices.
Fossil fuels are getting more expensive, harder to acquire, more dodgy characters and long supply lines.
House prices are continuing to rise in the bubble - turning a roof over your head into an investment vehicle for the rich. At the same time wages are stagnant at best. Something is going to break, at some point; it's only a matter of when. The price of fuel, and thus of electricity, isn't going to fall (tied to real costs). Wages aren't going to rise significantly (too much offshoring). Thus my guess is living standards will collapse, and the housing market with it. |
