Red Dog - the film
We saw this in Oz a year or two ago and it was repeated in the UK last night and is available on 'Catch Up TV'. Very enjoyable film and the music was just up my street inc Way out West by the Dingoes.

Kerryn Tolhurst wrote Way out West for The Dingoes and (with Greg Quill in Country Radio) - Gypsy Queen and Wintersong.

Heard recently the prequel to "Red Dog" is now in pre-production. The sequel is going to be called "Blue Dog" and set in in the 1960's and be released in 2016 or 2017.

I really enjoyed that movie. Funny, sad, sweet, extremely hot leading man.

When you hear a 21st century FIFO worker moaning about their 'hardship' and working conditions, tell them to watch this movie.......

I bet if you were in Dampier in the early 70's you would have reminded the workers how pre-teens used to be sent down the mines and they never had it so lucky.

So much for the family, feel good movie; bringing in right wing politics at every opportunity reeks of 'Oxford Bankers' actually.

Then the commie unions came along and ruined everything

Great movie. Have to see if it's on Netflix - a good Aussie film to show my South Afrrican boyfriend (I don't think he's recovered from Bran Nu Day yet but I think he'd like Red Dog). Can't wait for Blue Dog to come out.

Twas a great film, glad to hear they're making another.
A lot better than Backyard Ashes at anyrate, which is just barely watchable.
