Would you use a online grocer who provides a discount on your grocery waste?

They will deliver in reusable boxes and provide a discount on your next purchase if you place your used packaging in the initially delivered boxes

They produce bio oil from the plastic so potential free tank of petrol every 6 months

Council recycling scheme is pretty good where I live. And for shopping I want to be able to see what I'm buying before I buy it - and I get a lot of stuff reduced (those orange tickets where stuff only has days left to expire). At the moment, I'd never consider online grocery shopping, but as a full time dad I can get to the supermarket pretty much every day. Maybe this will change in future.

Most recycling has not been effective for many years

Despite councils providing bins and you thinking its all going to be recycled a majority is to land fill and cannot be diverted effectively

Foodstuffs in NZ has around 10,000 tons of waste being stored as it cant export it to China. They recently dumped over 2000 tons of treated recycling that had become to infested to store.

I'm a little peeved with the supermarkets around here (QLD) because, as soon as they opened up a recycling centre in town, the feckers raised the price of everything recyclable by 15c! If you actually get of your behind and take your stuff along for recycling then you're only 5c out of pocket.

The only way to shop in supermarkets is go in with a completely open mind about dinner and buy things that are reduced. Go in with a list of ingredients and it'll cost you a fortune.

On the plus side, when we bought our property we inherited a huge pile of ancient beer cans - over 1300 of the buggers. I took them in and got 10c each for them. Very pleasing.
