You can see them in the wild in Victoria, very near Melbourne, in the Dandenongs and other national parks. Healesville Sanctuary (only 35 minutes from where we live) is a great place to see all the native animals all in one place! I think they are mostly in temperate rainforest, so in the southern parts of the country. Come and visit us and we'll show you some

They're found mostly in wetter forest areas from the Dandenongs on the outskirts of Melbourne up to extreme south-east Qld, where they're replaced at higher elevations on the Lamington Plateau by the much rarer Albert's Lyrebird.
Healesville is certainly one of the easiest places to see them. They hang around the car park and picnic area there especially early morning.

Back in my old village in Kent I knew of a Starling that used to mimic the scream of a child. The first time I heard it, that's exactly what I thought it was until I realised it was coming from a bird on someone's roof!

That is amazing. The chainsaw bit was a bit dodge.
Wonder if it can do Celine Dion!

We have lyrebirds in the bush behind us- never knew they did Kookaburra sounds and car alarms!! So you can't trust what you hear- hope to god they don't do cockatoos and possums!!
