Golly! Why would that stay open all night? Is it near a shift worker area? Those carpets are reminiscent of an LSD overdose. But thanks for that... any port in a storm and all that.........

Probably helped by being not too far from the largest industrial complex anywhere in Australia.

Sunday - Thursday: 10am - 2am
Friday: 10am - 3am

True enough, it makes going to the footy tricky, sometimes I have a leave at halftime

Ah London, indeed, you should be allowed the opportunity to be a mugging victim at whatever time you please

I believe it's a fact that you and the cab driver couldn't find them

Hopefully a young un who lives in Sydney can come and help you out...

You've not been to the Squeeze Club then ? It's open till 3:00am Friday and Saturday nights out here in sleepy Redlands. Lord knows what Brisbane City has open till late (or the wee hours).

OMG...The Alex Hotel! I know this thread is about 'the dark side' but that is taking things a little too far!

  • The 3 Wise Monkeys Pub, 555 George Street open till 3:00 am
  • Scruffy Murphy's, Goulburn St, does it ever close ?
  • Strawberry Hills Hotel, Elizabeth Street, open till 6:00am
Having spent many a drinking night in Sydney, I can't believe it no longer has pubs that don't close till the early hours.

I can however believe in Taxi Drivers that can't find their way around.

It was a bit tongue in cheek ... I have little motivation to go out on the town anyway, too expensive and a logistical nightmare to get home ... sigh ... getting older ...

Just in the Cross I can think of half a dozen places to get a late drink (empire, Sports Bar, meltbar, world bar, etc) and thats not even taking into account the stripclubs.

And then theres the 24 hour pub in Pyrmont, loads of places round Crown St/Oxford St (backs to the wall in some of them though), a couple round Central.

As an absolute last resort there is always the casino.

When I lived in Newtown in the mid-'90s, we used to head off to work at about 7am. On the corner of our street there was a pub that was open at that time, and there was always a few guys in there - and we would sometimes join them! It was a bit of a dump but most 24 hour places are.

Sorry, but equip your kids with the right values, show them your support no matter what, have the attitude .... Its out there ... Just take a pinch of salt with the words of a twelve year old...they are just bloody kids, finding their way, exploring what pushes your buttons and others too... Take them too seriously and you could end up loosing friends.[/QUOTE]

and that my darling can be as painfull as loosing one of your family..

having lost both a family member to drugs and several friends to drugs i can safely say loosing a friend is no where near as painful...yes it hurts and devestates you but family is family and the emotional ties are much stronger (most of the time!)
