Maybe I don't go out at the 'right' times but I've only ever seen one spot used around here and that's outside a local High School - loads of parking - on a Sunday afternoon. Obviously they're in other places, I've just managed to miss seeing them.

Yes, I can just imagine.

I still haven't had an RBT since moving to Australia. +7 years now.

You say that like you routinely drink and drive.

I welcome the checks personally.

Yes. I have no problem with FB (or other) resources that show where the revenue raisers (aka police and their cameras) are - I use them myself - but draw the line with RBT locations. I think the cops RBT too much but it is a genuine public service

No chance. I just haven't had one.

My routine: Home to Work to home and some weekend daytime riding/driving/shopping until beer o'clock.

Fair enough.

There seems to be a culture around here of dispising mobile speed cameras also. I may be getting old but aren’t they just a voluntary tax for the inattentive? Raise that revenue, go for it.

I am all for those providing they don't sneak a change of speed up on you and the speed is well posted.

There was a blitz of Mobile RBT's in my area last Friday night. I was taking my daughter to Dance class at 5pm and passed 14 ( Yes Fourteen ) Highway Patrol cars within fifteen minutes. They seemed to be individually pulling cars over rather than a road block operation. This was in the Avoca Beach / Terrigal , not usually a target area.

Its unusual to see Highway Patrol cars in this area at all, normally just odd ones here and there. No mention of it in the local news this week, but there were a lot of cars and utes parked on grass verges the following morning. A lot of tradies having a quick beer on a Friday afternoon got more than they bargained for.

I've had about 2392842094 at the last count

Only 3 since we moved to NSW (one when I was supervising a learner driver) - the rest were in Queensland, where it seemed like they were everywhere I turned.

One of their favourite spots was on the mainland side of the bridge from Bribie Island, (so no way to avoid it) especially on a Friday evening after the kids had been playing football - a couple of the mothers fell foul of that one, particularly delightful to be drinking and driving with a bunch of teenagers in the car with you.

Two of the ones here in NSW were on a Saturday morning on the road from the Blue Mountains into Penrith - at a push, I'd guess their trawl was large from such a stop.

Me and my wife were test driving cars in Albion Park, there'e only one way out onto the highway, and we got pulled over 4 times at the same RBT in different cars. Oh how we laughed

Oh and I've just been done for jumping a red light, in my defence....I have no defence, I was being supremely impatient. Bugger

You'd have to be an ant with emphysema to get pulled up at a RBT (ie not blow correctly).
I often blow completely lightly into it, and trickle the last bit in, and it's still enough to get me across the line.
