Watched Ray tonight, did Queensland (well, the North). Very good. Not dwelling on the obvious spiders, crocs, sharks and everything else that can kill a fella. Just an honest bush tucker experience and appreciation of the history of the area.

Good reference to an aussie read that I will look up "whispering wind". (Not to be confused with whispering grass which I imagine will be something entirely different!!).

Obviously a slow news day for the daily rags :rolleyes:

It says on the end of his docos that its all been edited, and help and assistance were always available. It's just a fun show to watch.

There was one show where he helped a couple of wannabes try and join the french foreign legion. The crap they went through was unbeleivable, and Bear just walked through it like it was normal routine,and helped the others.

So I don't think he is some faker, he is a tough guy, and he gets advice from various experts from each region he visits when he does a programme, and then he presents it in a dramatic way.

Whats the problem?

Ray Mears is a right nancy compared to Bear Grylls.

Bear has climbed in a camel, drank water from elephant poo, and eaten a live fish:eek: not to mention loads oof other gross stuff.

Ray may have his faults, but the king of Survival LH absolutely loves Ray, and that is enough of an endorsement for me.


That and the fact one of my mates used to work for him running courses here in the UK, and he still worships Ray.
