Yes, thank God! Not nearly as much as we need but at least the dams are up around the 80% mark at long last. It could do with being a bit more sustained rather than the showers we are having at the mo. We are also re-roofing so it isnt good weather for that but we just love it when it comes. It's much worse up in the north.

Move to Perth. Doesn't seem to be raining there.

Good, everything should be looking lush and green by the time we get there . But hopefully it won't be raining much when we first arrive because we'll be camping to start off with .

Looking ahead, what a strange thought: To be amongst you Canberrans looking up at the clouds and hoping for rain .

Originally I wanted us to settle in Perth but with her sisters in Sydney, Mrs Paulry understandably wouldn't allow it.

Nope. It's been extremely dry this year. While on one hand it's been nice, with no horizontal rain, it's not so good for the dams.

I'd take a brolly, it's tipping down again here ... cricket off last week, rescheduled for this week and off again, next game next Sunday and it don't look good for that ... bleeding Sunshine State ...

Yeah, wont be long and, like the rest of us, you will be scouring the BOM site for patches of blue and praying that it will land on you. It's definitely looking greener and there is actually some water in Lake George I saw the other day. With luck it will fill up again - seems to be about a 30 year cycle.

We really need the steady soaking rain like they have in UK, ours has a tendency to dump and run.

Not just up your neck of the woods either. According to BOM we have had, apart from a period of 90min, "100% relative humidity" since 3:30am.. yesterday !

The upside is the mowing will have to wait ... it's pretty bad out there, found 3 Japanese soliders still fighting the war yesterday.
