Rain. I hate it.

Come to WA they say where the sun shines. Well it certainly isnt shining here in the Goldfield. It started raining at 7pm last night and its still raining. We have had 115mm so far and forecast at least another 100 overnight.

What this means is the plane from work that i should be on right now has been canceled untill Monday earliest. Oh, and the mess are going to have to rashion food and worst of the worst. The bar could run out!!!:curse:

I assume you're being ironic ;) Ration ;) I'm surprised you guys even recognise what it is, it's so long since you've had it (so to speak). Enjoy.

I love rain. I did get a bit 'over it' earlier in the year but still love it.:D

No not ironic at all. We had master chef here last weekend who used loads of our provisions and food truck was due this morning. It wont now arrive till Tuesday earliest as the road in has 4.5m of water over it.

We have had loads of rain already this summer and damn cold. Bizzare weather.

The mine is actually closed as the pit has developed a interesting water feature that very much resembles a river and large waterfall comming down the ramp and over the edge

Sounds really pretty  I'm surprised MC didn't bring in their own supplies

My OH has been out of his mine for a week - they hit a bump and the place filled up with gas. I think I'd rather have the water feature.

I sympathise with everyone who has to work in the rain of course, but I actually love the daily tropical deluge we get in Cairns. Living on the boat you can see it hammering down on the roof hatches as you are tucked up in the air con. We get huge grey clouds building from the humidity in the afternoon and then it buckets it down so hard it's like a power shower thing in a fancy spa.

I would rather have the rain than that as well. Underground gas is not fun.

Its just a pain to be stuck here, especially at 5am this morning when i should be laid in bed at home

Rain is great provided it just pelts down for a short periods at a time and gets it quickly over and done with.

I know where you're coming from.... Down in Brisbane we get these tropical deluges, but on a smaller, less frequent scale. I love sitting out on the deck (out of the rain!), enjoying the noisy downpours, and the cool air afterwards. With a cold beer in hand, of course.

We had a bizarre deluge in Brisbane the other morning. I woke up early and there were blue skies all round. Clouds came over in minutes, and the rain hammered it down out of nowhere! The shower lasted no more than 3 minutes then it suddenly stopped, and the sun came out again, almost instantly. Then the birds started chattering as if they'd never seen rain before.

Actually not by as far as you might think. Perth metro got 503mm - though the hills got 599. London Heathrow got 519.6 and London metro would have been significantly below this.

Australia doesnt have the drought problems it thinks it has. It just manages its water poorly.

That and there are some places that are not in drought but are natrualy desert. I remember working in NSW in farm country where drought was being claimed and doing some research about the area and discovered that there had never been any aboriginal people in the area because it was known as being two dry.

This is true and WA has better water management than most of the other states.

600mm is low for the hills. Over the last few years we have usually got over 1000mm.

But we appear to get it all in one go.... None of this constant drizzle crap.. Sunshine, belts down a ton of water, sun shines again

I can live with that...

Re: Rain. I hate it.

Actually Perth gets most of its rain - 80%+ over 92 days, London in 105 days. So pretty similar
